Heritage Center

The Heritage Center has been pleased to provide school tours for over 5,000 students during the past academic year. Tours have been tailored to emphasize any topic indicated by the teachers and have been received with enthusiasm. Upon completion of the tour, each student and teacher has receives a packet of local history materials, appropriate to their grade level or subject area.

In addition to guided tours for students from kindergarten to college levels, the Heritage Center has also hosted several workshops, in-services and meetings for Clark County educators to acquaint them with the many resources available to them at the Heritage Center.

The staff of the Heritage Center is committed to serving the community by making local history available through free tours, programs, activities, video remembrances of residents, costumed interpreters, outreach programs and workshops. The Heritage Center in downtown Springfield is truly more than a museum and welcomes the thousands who visit this historic building.
