Clark State Community College


Clark State Community College is a public two-year college offering career-oriented associate degrees and certificates in over 35 technologies, as well as pre-baccalaureate transfer degrees. The College is nationally accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools and has two campuses in Springfield.

Clark State boasts an annual enrollment of about 3,400 students with an average class size of 15 students. Tuition to attend the College is $3,300 per year for full-time students, making it one of the least expensive educational institutions in the area. Clark State has also formed an alliance with Franklin University allowing students to complete a bachelor's degree by taking many of the required courses at Clark State and finishing the degree online through Franklin University.

Clark State's downtown campus, the Brinkman Educational Center, houses the Community Computing Center @ Clark State which gives the general public access to a computer lab equipped with Windows XP Professional, Microsoft Word, Access, Excel and Powerpoint, and free workshops to learn basic skills.  Kid Space has two computer labs, one for young children and one for children ages 7-12, complete with web-filtering.  Staff is available in the Community Computing Center to answer questions.  For more information, please call 328-6044.  

Areas of study at Clark State include Arts and Sciences and Public Services, Business, Applied Technologies, and Health Technologies. The College also owns and operates the $15.6 million Clark State Performing Arts Center, located in downtown Springfield.
