Downtown Springfield is joining a growing list of cities large and small that have revitalized their downtowns with straightforward strategies to make the downtown attractive, business-friendly hubs of people living, working and recreating.
There have been some major investments in recent years that have positioned downtown for a development boom. A combination of investment, innovation and information are ready to combine to provide a "perfect storm" of renewal for Springfield's Center City.
Downtown boasts several thousand jobs, nearly 1,000 homes and apartments, the YMCA, the Clark State Performing Arts Center, the Clark County Library, Courtyard by Marriott, the Heritage Center, Elderly United, banks, clubs, churches, government, car dealers, small businesses and historic buildings being renovated and occupied.
The renewal is underway and millions of dollars in additional investment is likely. Entrepreneurs can find a wealth of development opportunities. The Center City Association is eager to connect you to the property owners, realtors, lenders and government officials who can help you with your business project in the Center City.
The RUDAT report by the American Institute of Architects reiterated many of the development goals that the Center City Association Board of Directors have identified. At public meetings on downtown development, Clark County residents repeated again these key development opportunities. Different locations within the Center City are available.
