CCA Current Events

First Friday is Downtown Springfield's newest community-building event.  The recurring affair takes place on the first Friday of every month from 7 to 9pm, and includes many merchants that operate in the Downtown.

            Started in December 2012 by Running with Scissors Creative Collective and Doug Frates Glass at 32 N. Fountain Ave., the event continues to grow as more businesses join in the fun.  Not only have downtown businesses seen an increase in sales, but now we also have another good reason to spend some time in our beautiful Center City.  Each month, our businesses invite other retailers, suppliers and performers into their stores, showcasing local musical talent, delicious area foods, and special items that you might decide you can't live without, making First Friday another example of why it's great to live in Springfield.

            First Friday will continue to have a major impact, and each month we can look forward to a great time.  Our downtown is alive and well, and First Friday is an important part of our success.  It's a place to gather, a place to share a good time with friends and family, a place to shop and dine, and a place to say, "I'm proud to be part of such a great community." When we come together, anything is possible. Join us and help ensure that each month, First Friday continues to grow.
